Senior Research Advisor for the 2021 National Outreach Survey for Transportation

Dr. Galanis is a UAS Researcher and the Senior Research Advisor for the 2021 National Outreach Survey for Transportation, under the USDOT Combating Human Trafficking in Transportation Impact Award.​

​Dr. Galanis is an applied statistician with over 40 years of experience in survey research, experimental design, and econometric modeling. His professional experience spans multiple industries across several sectors – international, Federal, state, regulated, non-profit, private, venture capital, and academic.
 
His focused areas of expertise include categorical data analysis [contingency tables, log-linear, and logistic regression (binary, multinomial, ordered and conditional)], time series (structural, ARIMA and VAR variants) and causal impact modeling (controlled, natural, IV, discontinuity, diff-in-diff, PSA, and SEM).

​Representative private- and public-sector employers and clients for whom he has worked in these areas include, PG&E, Premise, Uber CommOps, Uber Media, Audi, Clorox, AKQA, Survata, Facebook, WIU, FedEx, American Express, Charles Schwab, Chrysler, Nationwide Insurance, Wells Fargo, Sony, Universal McCann, Intel, eBay, US EPA, and Wharton Econometrics.
 
He holds a BA from Columbia University and an MS and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has held positions as an adjunct professor and lecturer in survey research and consumer behavior as well as micro- and macro-economics.
